I am very interested in visiting our child we have sponsored for the past 5 + years, in Ecuador this summer. His name is Raul. I am very interested in learning about when he will graduate from high school. I would like to go in August on your trip to Ecuador, if I have enough money. Your Friend and Sister in Christ,

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for your post. In future years we will have our Christmas card party much earlier. October has been Compassion month for our church, with this Sunday our final week for members to sponsor a child. We know our cards will probably arrive late, but a belated card is better than none at all!

I found this post through a Google alert, but I wanted to share the link to my blog which gives a lot of info about sponsorship and the crucial part of the ministry – letter writing. http://www.bloggingfromtheboonies.com Feel free to stop by or direct others to the site!
Also, I wanted to let you know that it takes approximately 2-3 months for letters to travel to our sponsored child, so Christmas cards should be sent out within the week to get to the children on time.
If I can help in any other ways, I’d be happy to. I have been trained as a Compassion Advocate and can answer most of the frequently asked questions sponsors have.

Financial Peace University helped me to relaunch my career in missions by teaching me to budget, stick to the budget, and say ‘no’ to good things so that I could say ‘yes’ to better things later. I thoroughly agree with the idea of everyone doing this course – whether you have a handle on your finances or not, because the truth is: we can all learn something.
